DANCE = Communication
Dance is a universal means of communication. The intellectual, physical, and social skills taught through Dance are fundamental to a child's ability to function in other areas. The child who dances, practices organizing schematically, Visualizing, planning, sequencing, conceptualizing and constructing reality. These are the same skills needed to excel in writing, Reading and math. Children who dance are involved in cooperating, integrating, understanding social interaction, rule-guided Behavioiur, assuming the point of view of others, joyousness, pure beauty, and generosity of feeling. These skills translate intoHigher emotional maturity and social effectiveness.
